Petition

The weir yesterday minus the tree which was stuck over the lip, yesterday's high water moved it ,it is now lying at the bottom side of the weir just next to the fish pass, lets hope it stays there and dose not move and get stuck in the middle of the Bride Pool or the flats ore somewhere like that.

Ian Gordon a Spey Ghillie and tackle consultant has started a petition to try and reverse the decision of the Scottish net fisheries netting for Spring Salmon in coastal Scottish waters in what's known as mixed stock fisheries. These fishings are very effective at capturing stocks from more than one river by intercepting the fish on the coastal shore lines of Scotland.

AGM Update

We had our AGM last night and had a good turn out on such a wild night.

Some of the points covered were.

The re-election of the committee,

The Treasurer proposed no increase in any permits for next season and with no complaints from the members it was carried.

Again Daiwa have donated a rod for the raffle, it is a 4 piece 14 ft Wilderness XT,tickets for the rod and lots more prizes can be obtained from Sandy on permit application, opening day or through any of the bailiffs

Gordon mentioned about the catch returns and out of 180 members only 65 bothered to take a few seconds
to fill it in and pop it in the post IT IS A LEGAL REQUIREMENT TO FILL IN EVEN IF THERE ARE NO FISH CAUGHT.
Hopefully we will be able to get them sent to Gordon by email next year.

Jimmy Delaney spoke about his Salmon Conservation Model and the benefits it would bring.

The Chairman, with no other business  thanked everyone for coming and closed the meeting.
