Satarday past

 We had our Angling demonstration day on Satarday at the David Livingston centre in Blantyre
 During the day there was a fly tying demo which ran most of the day from tiny winged trout flies to  dry as well as some modern salmon flies

 Alongside there were guided views to the fish pass and the salmon were obliging leaping at the ladder and in the surronding area
Jim Deleaney and Kemp Meikle gave talks during the day on the history and return of the salmon to the river Clyde

There was also a speycasting demo on the river and some fly rods and spinning rods set up in a grass area for anyone wishing to have atry at casting

Angling Demonstration Day


















Mid Clyde Angling Association are holding an event at the David Livingstone Centre on Saturday 24th September The day kicks off at 10 00 am and will feature fly tying and tackle displays demonstration casting ,guided walks to view the fish ascending the weir , and talks on the history and recovery of salmon in the river Come along and support MCAA and the David Livingstone centre There’s lots to do and see for all the family.
There is a small entry fee of £2.00 per person.
Along with fly tying demonstrations yoyu can enjoy:

10.30am, 11.30am, 2.30pm and 3.30pm:
Guided visits to the salmon ladder and riverside with a casting demonstration. £4.00 per person.

10am and 3pm:
'Tales of the River Clyde and an Introduction to the Sport - An Illustrated Talk from Kemp Meikle'

The David Livingston Centre is located on Station Road, Blantrye and can be reached by rail, car or walking easily.
