WORKING IN THE COMMUNITY

Yesterday three of us were at the David Livingston  Centre in Blantyre which is well worth a visit  if you are in the area, tons of info on David Livingstone's life here and as a missionary in Africa along wth some nice gardens  and parkland, small shop confrence facilities and a cafeteria
Any way we were up there for a small trial project in conjunction with the centre. They have a small kids club open to the public on a sat morning . We attended and gave the kids a small talk on the salmon life cycle a demo of fly tying and materials and where they come from,we then moved outside where we had some trout rods set up and done a  tutorial with fly and spin casting. A fter that the staff had a small gymnastic obstacle game where the kids were salmon battling up the river picking up points as they negated obstacles and avioded dangers ,
Later on in the month we are holding a full day event with the centre, for all ages in which so far there will be a guided nature walk,a talk on the history of the area and the clyde,Another talk on the re apperance of the salmon to the clyde and the trials and tribulations of this. All day fly tying demo, speycasting demo, and a guided tour down to the fish ladder to hopefully see the Salmon
Final details will be up inthe coming days with times and full event package
